How Apple Shortcuts works with Supermemory
Apple Shortcuts adds memories from iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Two shortcuts are provided: Add memory and Search memory. Before you start
- A Supermemory account with Personal Brain access
- Signed in at app.supermemory.ai
- An iPhone, iPad, or Mac with the Shortcuts app
- The active organization and Space you want to save into
How to install the Add memory and Search memory shortcuts
1
Open Integrations in Personal Brain
Go to Integrations and select Apple Shortcuts.
2
Install the shortcut from Personal Brain Integrations
Install Add memory and Search memory from the links in Personal Brain. Do not paste an API key or credential into the shortcut manually.
3
Choose the correct Space
Select the Space you want the shortcut to use before saving.
4
Run Add memory to test
Run the Add memory shortcut with a short note, then run Search memory to find it.
How the shortcuts call Supermemory
The shortcuts call Supermemory from your Apple device. Add memory sends the input to your active Space. Search memory queries the same Space and returns matches. What Apple Shortcuts saves and searches
- Save: text, links, or content passed to Add memory, including from the Share Sheet or Siri
- Search: your memory in the Space the shortcut is pointed at
Limitations of the Apple Shortcuts integration
- Install the shortcut from Personal Brain Integrations so it comes preconfigured. Never expose or share an API key or credential.
- Saves and searches run against the Space selected in setup. Switching Spaces requires reconfiguring the shortcut.
- Share Sheet behavior varies by app. Some apps only pass a URL, others pass selected text.
How to troubleshoot Apple Shortcuts
- The shortcut fails to run. Confirm the active organization and Space, and that you installed the shortcut from Personal Brain Integrations.
- A saved memory did not appear. Check that it finished processing and lives in the Space the shortcut targets.
- Search returns nothing. Confirm the Space matches where you saved earlier, and that connection status is active.
